Get answers to common questions about Under Arms Waxing.
Results usually last three to six weeks depending on individual hair growth and hormonal factors. With regular waxing, regrowth tends to become finer and slower, extending intervals between appointments and providing smoother underarms compared with shaving.
Before your appointment, arrive with hair roughly a quarter-inch long—about a week's growth. Avoid heavy deodorants, exfoliating products, or sunburned skin. Clean, dry underarms help the wax adhere and reduce discomfort during treatment.
Waxing can initially cause irritation or occasional ingrown hairs, especially for those prone to sensitive skin. Our technicians use proper technique, pre- and post-care advice, and recommend exfoliation and moisturization to minimize ingrowns and speed healing.
Ideal hair length is about a quarter inch (the size of a grain of rice). Too short and the wax won't grab; too long and removal can be more painful. If needed, we can trim to optimal length before waxing.
For most clients it's safe, but consult your provider if you have specific concerns. Hormonal changes, skin conditions, or certain medications may require caution. We can discuss timing, patch testing, and alternatives to ensure your safety during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Aftercare includes avoiding deodorant, hot showers, saunas, and heavy sweating for 24 hours. Gently cleanse and apply a soothing lotion or aloe. Exfoliate lightly after 48–72 hours to prevent ingrowns and follow any personalized advice from your technician.
